preschool, pre-school, devon, ilsington, blackpool, liverton, bovey tracy, heathfiled, widecombeThe Pre-School is registered with the Devon LEA (Local education authority) as a provider under the Early Years Grant Scheme. Your child will normally be eligible for the grant from the term after their 3rd birthday and a declaration form will need to be completed on a term basis. The cost of each session as shown above is payable termly and an invoice will be issued at the start of each term for payment in advance and should be given to the Administrator. If you would like to pay your fees by installments suitable arrangements can be made with the Administrator. Unfortunately fees are not refundable when a child is absent from Pre-School. The invoice will also give details of the dates of each term including details of the half term, which normally follow those of both llsington and Blackpool Schools.

We endeavour to take the children on suitable outings (weather permitting!) and in the past we have been to Decoy Country Park, Stover Country Park, Paignton Zoo, River Dart Country Park, Pennywell Farm and many more and to which we normally require an adult to child ratio of 1:2. We have also benefited from and the children have enjoyed visitors to the Pre-School and in the past we have had visits from a Policeman, a Clock maker, a Milkman etc. Devon County Council no longer has funding for a Road Safety Officer so the supervisors now plan into the curriculum sessions on the issue of Road Safety together with equipment that we can borrow to help. We have a notice board inside the main door with details of all of our Insurances, Registration Certificate and Pre-School policies together with other relevant information regarding up and coming events, training available, fund-raising, rotas etc. We also prepare regular newsletters giving details of what's happening at Pre-School and any new information.

Arrival and Settling in

The Parent/Carer and Toddler Group caters for the youngest children from 0 -3 years so babies are more than welcome. The Pre-School is normally able to receive children from the age of 2+ years accompanied by either a Parent or Carer. Once your child reaches the age of 2 1/2 they are welcome to stay on their own but please feel free to stay with them until they feel happy and secure as it takes children varying amounts of time to settle at Pre-School. We welcome every family to come and visit a session and talk further with our staff to discuss any aspects of the setting that we provide. To arrange a visit please could you contact Gail Upham who will arrange a mutually convenient time for your visit.
